In 1979, a Chilean family, in political exile in Canada, traveled to Eastern Europe with their young children to prepare for The Return Plan, an international effort to topple the Pinochet dictatorship. El Retorno/I Return explores family, exile and revolution, and journeys into the heart of Latin American history.
El Retorno/I Return is presented as part of the RISER Project, a collaborative producing model by Why Not Theatre, with the generous support of the Toronto Arts Council and the Government of Canada.
Written, directed and produced by Marilo Nuñez, set and projection design by Peter Riddihough, costume design by Kelly Wolf, sound design by Michael Rinaldi, choreography/movement by Olga Barrios, dramaturgy by Ric Knowles, and featuring Alejandro Ampudia, Anita La Selva, Ximena Huizi, Augusto Bitter and Sofia Rodriguez.
